Selections for this exhibit traverse gendered representation in contemporary art and provide an array of stories that reveal how we adopt various roles, either masculine or feminine, and how these interpretations are visually constructed. Traversing Gender is an exhibit that includes political, social, economic and religious content that gives way to broader implications illustrated in a disparate selection of photography, painting, installation and sculpture. Artists include: Hannah Barrett, Jesse Burke, Caleb Cole, Jess T. Dugan, Lauren DiCioccio, Lalla A. Essaydi, Elisa Johns, Steve Locke, John O'Reilly, Rune Olsen, Suzanne Sinclair, Mary Ellen Strom, Triiibe (Courtesy of Edwynn Houk Gallery, New York, Gallery Kayafas, Howard Yezerski Gallery, Judi Rotenberg Gallery, Samson Projects, Walker Contemporary)
